We are happy to announce our second annual Christmas Train in 2025, The Santa Rocket, starting on Nov. 22 through December 22 with rides at 2:30 pm, 5:00 pm, and 7:30 pm. Rides last approximately one hour.
Join us on a sparkling journey from Baldwin City, KS, straight to the North Pole! As you step aboard our festively decorated passenger cars, you'll immediately be embraced by the warmth of the Holiday spirit. Brightly twinkling Christmas lights flicker outside, setting the perfect backdrop for a delightful hour-filled with joy and wonder.
This unique train ride is not just a journey; it's an invitation to create a new family tradition--one filled with laughter, imagination, and the true spirit of Christmas. We've got some ROCK-solid Christmas cheer coming your way! Join us December 15-20 for our annual Jingle Bell Rock scavenger hunt.
How Jingle Bell Rock Works
Starting Monday, December 15, and running through Friday, December 19, clues will be dropped daily on our website and social media. FA-LA-LA-LA-follow the clues, find the daily rock, snap a picture, then leave the rock for the next hunter to find.
Each day's rock has a letter painted on it, for a total of five letter rocks. After you've found all and snapped pics with all five rocks, you'll unscramble the letters and email your pictures and the unscrambled word to info@baldwinrec.org by no later than 8:00PM on Friday, December 19, for a clue to the grand prize rocks.
The final clue will be sent via email to everyone who submits their photos in time. The clue for the grand prize rocks will not be released on social media or our website; it will only be emailed to those who complete the first 5 days' hunt and prove their mettle.
There are TWO grand prize rocks; the first person/family to find a rock and submit a picture to info@baldwinrec.org gets their pick of the prizes, with second place receiving the other grand prize. In addition, all participants who email photos and the unscrambled word will be entered to win three other fun prizes! One prize per family. We will contact winners via email on Monday, December 22.

Nostalgic Memoriam: Extended by Jewel Marsh
Jewel is a Baldwin City native whose love for art first blossomed right here. She began painting through mural projects at the Lumberyard during her senior year of high school and has continued to grow her practice through studio courses at KU, where she is completing her BFA in Visual Arts with a minor in Art History. She recently celebrated her first solo show at Off-Site Art Space in Lawrence, KS.
As a Lumberyard Art Center "Youth Art Scholarship" recipient, we are incredibly proud and excited to celebrate Jewel's accomplishments.
