Please join us for the Grand Opening of an America 250 Display presenting the contributions of twenty-two local women to early Kansas.

Kansas pioneer men and women worked together diligently with strength, determinations, and grit to form the territory into a great state. This display presents information about local women who made major contributions to early Douglas County. They include the first college graduate, the first dentist, early physicians, pioneer women, an early pharmacist, an early mayor, an ex-slave (later landowner and midwife,) business owners, teachers, political advocates, and more.

Display open during library hours through December 31, 2026.
