Freedom of Expression Retreat 2026: For Those With Suicide Grief

The 20th annual Freedom of Expression (FOE) retreat for people who have lost Loved Ones by Suicide. Since 2007, every year, except during the 2020 COVID Pandemic, we gather in-person at The Light Center (TLC) at 1542 Woodson Rd., Baldwin City, KS 66006 in southern Douglas County, Kansas. In 2020 our gathering was online!

We hold in our hearts Dear FOE Friends who have died by any cause. This year's retreat is dedicated to Energy Artist Jancy Pettit, of our Retreat Team and John Musgrave, Shannon's husband, and an outstanding support to veterans and their families for the decades since his service in Marines. Jancy passed in February, John in May, each after living long with physical challenges, as well as Love & Creativity & So Much More.

For this 20th FOE retreat, even more than each past year, our goal is to establish and renew Loving Connections among our FOE participants and our Loved Ones. We hope for participants here for the first time, as well as participants from one or more of our past FOE's.

The Light Center is beautiful, peaceful, and full of love for Beings and This Planet. The retreat will include time for enjoying nature; time for talking about our Loved Ones in Life, our Grief, our Lives; materials for creative projects; and of course Lunch & Snacks.

Donations to The Light Center of $30-50 from those who are able, will help provide this retreat to some who are not able to donate. Thank you.
