Enter the Summer Solstice in ceremony! As the sun grows in intensity, welcome in the longest days of the year. The Earth's rhythm is palpable and penetrates us in mind and body.
The Sweatlodge ceremony led by Merle Anderson starts at noon, but you are invited to arrive as early as you can. Merle is Navajo and is honored as a Lakota Chief.
We welcome contributions for the use of the TLC space, rocks and firewood. Also it is traditional to offer gifts for the Chief and Firekeeper. Gifts of good tobacco, sage, sweetgrass and cedar are always a blessing to the lodge.
Bring your water body and hydrate well. Eat light foods in the morning, like fruit. Bring a dish to share for a feast after the ceremony. Also bring a couple towels and a light, loose-fitting cotton garment to wear into the lodge.
