Hello and welcome back to the Baker Connection! I’m Carol Soria, a senior at Baker University and this semester’s Intern at the Chamber of Commerce. I will be updating every other week, with events that everyone can attend offered by Baker.

 

 

April 18, 2018 — All Day, Baker Campus

Interested in seeing what Baker students learn? Come to the Dialogos Honors Symposium. Some students will do small presentations about certain topics taught in their class.

 

 

April 19th -21st –7:30 PM – Rice Auditorium

Come see the theater’s production of The Christians.” This play is about a Pastor who has a major revelation which has big consequences for his congregation. It will give you an intimate look at moments that define who you are are and what you believe in. Admission is free.

 

 

 

April 21, 2018 – 8 AM – Owen Music

Building

The Baker University Department of Music hosts The Annual Trombone Day. This event increases awareness, education, and appreciation for the trombone through master classes, rehearsals and recitals. Admission is free.

 

 

April 21, 2018 – 4:30 p.m. – Baldwin First United Methodist Church

After the Department of Music does their workshops, come see the instruments in action. This includes a trombone choir concert featuring all the workshops’ participants. Admission is free.

 

 

April 22, 2018 – 2PM – Rice Auditorium

Everyone loves magic, so come see Magician Ivan Pecel. Ivan was on America’s Got Talent and known for his juggling talent and comedy. Come have a good laugh, Admission is free.

 

 

April 27, 2018 – 3:30PM – Baldwin City Campus

Baker has a beautiful campus and its plentiful amount of trees. Come witness the Boyd Arboretum National Arbor Day Tree Planting Ceremony. During this event, a staff member that has made this year spectacular will help plant a new tree on campus.

 

 

April 27, 2018 – 7:30PM – Rice Auditorium

Love listening to music? Come listen to the last choral performance by Baker students. Admission is free.
